Sat 6 April 2002 - The Car is sold

The MGF is sold

Sod's Law of course, we have had the MGF advertised for sale on this Web-Site for some time, not really expecting anyone to even find it, let alone consider purchasing. Ula had just arranged to advertise the car in the local papers, but much more seriously than last time.

I had noted that www.google.co.uk were pointing to our site for a number of search results and also that "MGF for Sale" was giving us a few "hits" per day from various search engines, I therefore changed the "MGF for sale" page to indicate that we were based in the UK this, to avoid disappointing any non-UK "surfers".

On Friday "out of the blue" we get an email, followed by a phone call, asking to view the car? Ula described it over the phone to the young Lady and quoted her price.

In practise "Nicola" bought "Barry" her Father with her, and a pre-filled Bankers draft, driving all the way from West Yorkshire to view the car, which indicated to us, someone fairly keen.

Of course she fell in love with the car immediately. Deservedly so, since Urszula has really looked after it and we spent a large part of Saturday morning cleaning and polishing. The car does still look brand-new. No, I should say DID look brand-new, since they purchased there and then with hardly a test-drive!

Ula is very sad now, her "pride and joy" having gone to a new home, however Nicola and her Dad seemed to be OK and she was very pleased with her new purchase, the equivalent of 18 months mileage on a car at a six-year-old price? We wish her well with it and hope she drives carefully, it is a pretty powerful beast for a youngster to handle. Dad was a police-driving instructor, so she should know how to drive. We asked for a photo....

Deborah takes a holiday

Not content with just travelling round the world for three years, Deb's is trying hard to say goodbye to all her friends and at the same time spend some "time" with Mum & Dad before leaving. We have all been off work for the last week and have travelled the UK (a little) and eaten out (very well) as a family.

Now it is her "real Dad's" turn.

Deb's, David and his second Wife Jill, are all heading for Lanzarotti for a weeks holiday, they have just left:- Sat, 6 Apr 2002, so Ula, the dog and I are alone for a week, then with Deb's back for only a few days before she departs for Thailand, we will be alone for (more or less) good after that.

More to follow.....
